Postnatal Doula Support

Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, the right support in the early weeks can make a significant difference.

I offer postnatal doula support through daytime visits for families in Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, Watford and surrounding areas.

The early days with a newborn can feel like a complete shift - physically, emotionally and practically. My role is to support you through that transition with calm, capable, and responsive care, so you feel held, not overwhelmed.

How I Support You

My postnatal support is tailored to you and your family. Some visits may be more hands-on, others more focused on reassurance and guidance - we shape it around what you need on the day.

Support may include:

Feeding Support
Support with breastfeeding, bottle feeding or expressing - offering practical guidance and reassurance without pressure or judgement.

Emotional Support
Space to talk, ask questions, or process your birth experience, with steady, non-judgemental support.

Practical Help at Home
Light household tasks such as tidying, laundry or keeping things running smoothly, so you can rest and focus on your recovery and your baby.

Nourishing Meal Preparation
Preparing simple, nutritious meals for you and your family - either during my visit or pre-arranged - so you are properly supported and nourished in the postnatal period.

Support with Your Baby
Caring for your baby while you rest, shower, or take some time for yourself, knowing they are in safe, experienced hands.

Pet Care
Helping with day-to-day pet care, so nothing feels like it’s slipping.

Building Your Confidence
Gently supporting you as you get to know your baby and find your own rhythm, so you feel more confident in your instincts and decisions.

A Different Kind of Support

My role isn’t to take over or do things for you - it’s to support you in a way that feels steady, respectful and responsive.

Some days that might look like practical help around the house. Other days it may simply be having someone there who understands, listens, and reassures.

A Final Note

There is no single “right” way to navigate the postnatal period. Having consistent, trusted support can give you the space to recover, adjust and settle into life with your baby in a way that feels right for you.

If you would like to talk through what support might look like for you, you are very welcome to get in touch.

It’s been so lovely having your reassurance and knowledge to not only help us in the early stages but also prepare us for what’s to come. Thank you for making our first memories even more special and I can’t wait for you to be every step of the way next time round
